You may think to yourself, "Why does he spend time on these things?"

I wish it was because I get paid.


Some have asked how I do these things. So I'll explain it a bit.

- Found a pic of the terminator, and I brought it into a graphics program, and increased the conrast until I got 3 colours, white, gray and black. I use this for reference. Now I'm ready to create this sucker.

- I got the gray line from objects, and then I stretched it lengthwise, but not in thickness, because it turns black on me. Then I copy and paste the gray line right below it and repeat this until I get a gray square.

- One of the saddest things is that I can't zoom. Normally, right click and zoom works for flash, but on my mac, it doesn't work. I don't know why. Makes it all annoying trying to grab small things.

- Using the white squares and circles, I fill in the right side of the human face, forming the shape of the head. I put the glasses of the one eye for reference.

- I then use the black square, circle, line and curve to fill in the rest of human face. Black on top of or below a transparent gray makes black, so I make heavy use of send to back to get the black behind the white. It's not so easy for the white, since white and gray make gray. So I would have to send white to back, and then send the gray to back.

- To get really thin black lines, I take the diagonal black line and squeeze it. Then I rotate it around. The other lines don't go any thinner, but that's one that goes the thinnest, I think.

- Once the human side was complete, I actually rushed the robot side. Using the same techniques I created it. For the eye, I used a red dot, however, the white dot cannot shrink that much. So I took a white square, threw it in the corner, and then used black to cover it all up. I didn't like the eye that much, but it was the first part of the robotic face I did, so I just didn't want to touch it after that. For the robotic cheeks, I just threw in random things, like the wierd squiggly pattern at the end of the objects.



Just in case you wanted to know... By all means, if you see me doing something completely inefficient, tell me. I'm all for learning new techniques. :)

Ok, I'm a day late, but I was busy making iStrip yesterday, and I didn't have time.

You wouldn't believe how freaking hard this was. But I'm not smart enough to actually have come up with the above illustration, I reproduced it from another picture.

30 Years since the original Star Wars, I saw it in the theatres. How fun!

Oh, I learned something new. If you have something SELECTED, and then click the ">>", it will copy only that object to the next frame. Good grief, I've been copying the whole frame, deleting stuff, and copying it back.

Oh ya, know what else I learned? That these comics can be RATED. How did I miss that?? So sorry to all you people who I've said, "COOL COMIC" too, and then didn't even rate. Don't take it personally. Now I know. :)

I don't know if he's more a North American thing though...I guess I'll find out. :D

Hard without copying though, my symmetry skills are sorely lacking.

My kids want to go to a beach or something, because it's a nice day. Inside is nice, why don't people like the inside?
